Our Volunteering
We Volunteer Individually
Each active member commits to volunteering at a local charity. They choose according to their personal interests. For some it is working with children or the elderly, others share their time and talent in the areas of art or culture, literacy or mental health. In all, more than 50 non-profit organizations have relied on WRJSL members to help augment paid staff, assist with special projects or serve as members of their board of trustees.
We Volunteer as a Group
As a part of our commitment to volunteerism, WRJSL members also participate as a group in special community service projects. In the past, we have worked together on promoting drug awareness and education through the “Red Ribbon” program, helping the United Way with its “Harvest for Hunger” campaign, compiling and delivering baskets to needy families, sorting clothes for Hope Chest, sanding and painting at the Mooreland Mansion on the grounds of Lakeland community College and hosting the soup kitchen at St. James Episcopal Church.
