Each member volunteers to help in the community as well as the League. Everyone’s passion is different; some want to help the elderly, some want to help the sick, some want to work with children and women who have been victims of domestic violence. We help you match your passion and commitment to help with an organization so that your time will benefit them as well as yourself. In order to keep Service League running smoothly, we need organizers, bookkeepers, proofreaders, bakers, team leaders and coordinators just to name a few. We want to help you apply your talents and knowledge so that your involvement with Service League will be a rewarding experience and we can continue moving forward.
Hawaiian Shirts for Deployed Soldiers
Gwen Pollard started a mission a year ago to send 5,000+ Hawaiian shirts and notes of encouragement to her deployed son and our deployed soldiers everywhere to lift them up. Our own past president, Donna Skufca, has a beautiful personal connection to this organization and thought this was the perfect way to help and also honor the memory of her husband, Ron. Recently she sent 50 shirts, thank you notes and snacks to our deployed soldiers and she will continue to collect items for future shipments.
