Our Volunteers

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” This is accredited to Margaret Mead, anthropologist and humanitarian. This is one of the most used volunteer quotes in the United States for a good reason. It’s motivational, aspirational, and makes a person want to act.

Group Volunteerism

As a part of our commitment to volunteerism, Service League members also participate in group special community service projects. In the past, we have worked together on putting on a carnival for Deepwood clients, spring cleaning for the Historical Society building and grounds, sorted clothing for Hope Chest and helped Extended Housing to get their new apartments ready for their clients. These special service projects help our community as well as help our members to bond as a group. It helps us to build deeper friendships among our group as well as within the organizations in the community.

Individual Volunteerism

Each member volunteers to help in the community as well as the League. Everyone’s passion is different; some want to help the elderly, some want to help the sick, some want to work with children and women who have been victims of domestic violence. We help you match your passion and commitment to help with an organization so that your time will benefit them as well as yourself. In order to keep Service League running smoothly, we need organizers, bookkeepers, proofreaders, bakers, team leaders and coordinators just to name a few.  We want to help you apply your talents and knowledge so that your involvement with Service League will be a rewarding experience and we can continue moving forward
